Welcome to Apalis Nature

People. Planet. Profit.

Kenya’s Coast is endowed with an outstanding diversity of flora and fauna, ranging from rainforest, woodlands, grasslands and mangrove forests to coral reefs, seagrasses and key bird, wildlife and marine species.

In recent decades, these magnificent coastal and marine ecosystems have experienced extensive degradation and biodiversity loss due to a number of factors, including climate change and unsustainable land use and natural resources exploitation.

Apalis Nature is a climate change and biodiversity conservation advisory based in Coastal Kenya, committed to restoring and protecting these crucial ecosystems by helping reconcile the 3Ps: Planet, People and Profit.

Frequently Asked Questions

About our collaborative and global approach to making more climate conscious choices

What is a carbon project?
Carbon project is an initiative designed to reduce or remove greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions from the atmosphere. These projects generate carbon credits, which can be sold to organizations or individuals looking to offset their emissions.
02. How are a carbon credit generated?
Carbon credit represents one tone of verified carbon dioxide equivalent (tco2eq) reduced or removed from the atmosphere. Carbon credits are generated when a project successfully reduces or removes emissions, as verified by third-party auditors under a recognized standard.
03. How do companies offset their carbon emissions through carbon projects?
Companies purchase verified carbon credits to compensate for unavoidable emissions, contributing to projects that reduce or remove CO₂.
04. How do communities benefit from carbon project?
Communities benefit through revenue from carbon credit sales, employment opportunities, capacity building in sustainable land management, and improved local infrastructure such as schools and water projects.
05. How are carbon project contributing to sustainable development goals (SDGs)?
Beyond reducing emissions, many carbons offset projects support various SDGs by promoting biodiversity conservation, improving health outcomes through cleaner energy solutions, creating employment opportunities, and enhancing community resilience.
